Did you know? That you and every citizen whether diagnosed with a disability or not:
• Has the right to accept or decline to participate in research
• Has the right to be free of abuse
• Can file a report if they disagree with the manner in which they are being treated
• Has the right to refuse medication
• Has the right to send and refuse mail
• Has the right to freedom of movement
• Has the right to send and refuse telephone calls
• Has the right to manage money and own property
• Has the right to confidentiality
• Has the right to practice any religion
• Has the right to vote.
This is just a sampling of the rights that all people have, inclusive of the people that are supported by Kennedy-Donovan Center.
Kennedy-Donovan Center insures the rights of the people that we support by conducting a quarterly meeting of the all volunteer Human Rights Committee. The Human Rights Committee reviews health related protections, restraints of any kind, medication errors, and all complaints. The Human Rights Committee has an open meeting policy whereby anyone can call KDC and request to be present to express any concerns.
