Position Description: Assist with the promotion of client growth by providing and facilitating developmental skills training in the following areas: sensorimotor development, communication development, social development, independent living development, affective development and behavior development utilizing a multi-disciplinary team based approach.

Qualifications: · Bachelors Degree in a Psychology/Special Education related field · One year of work experience in a program serving persons with developmental disabilities · A High School Diploma and at least two years work experience in a program serving individuals with Developmental Disabilities may serve as an alternative to a Bachelors Degree. · Demonstrated competency in all areas identified on the TA Competency Form. · Able to meet required competency level in Microsoft Office Software. · Valid Driver’s License. · Acceptable driving status, as determined by KDC insurance company. |

Physical Requirements: · Frequent movement within classroom including but not limited to: kneeling, bending, sitting, lifting, and positioning of students. · Operation of adaptive and specialized equipment. · Ability to use computer. · Ability to tolerate sustained periods of walking, standing, sitting. · Ability to lift 40 pounds alone, 41-200 pounds with the assistance of another person or adaptive equipment. · Ability to transfer consumers to and from adaptive equipment. · Ability to see, speak, and hear. · Ability to complete and implement physical training requirements, determined by KDC.

Responsibilities: · Implement individual and group developmental activities as assigned and supervised by program director. · Collect and record data relating to daily activities. · Provide Case Management services to assigned clients · Participate in staff, team meetings, group and individual supervision. · Assist in documentation of client progress through communication of observations to supervisors. · Implement behavior management programs, data collection systems, DHSP, learning styles. · Provide direct service support as assigned in response to the needs of the clients. · Assist with am and pm client transportation transfer. · Assist in maintenance and upkeep of classroom. · Assist Director in administrative planning of program. · Supervises Habilitation Aides and relief staff to carry out their responsibilities and the agency mission. · Ensure that assigned individuals are involved in the community activities of their choice. · Ability to communicate thoughts clearly in spoken and written English. · Ability to advise, influence, exercise good judgment, and make thoughtful decisions · Ability to effectively act as team leader. · Ability to analyze, evaluate and prioritize. · Ability to effectively manage conflict. · Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal and communication skills. · Ensure clinical and programmatic planning and implementation for consumers: DHSP, behavior plans, learning styles, data collection systems. · Ensure that assigned individuals are involved in the community activities of their choice. · Integrate individualized outcomes for consumers and staff into group management · Ensure adequate staffing to meet needs of individuals. · Supervise Support Specialists and relief staff to carry out their responsibilities and the agency mission. · Assist Director in administrative planning of program. · Assume responsibility of Support Specialist as needed. · Maintain accurate and complete records, reports and data necessary to meet the requirements of HMEA and any certifying or regulatory agency. · Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
