Transitional Job Support

Kennedy-Donovan Center staff work with employers to identify, place, train and support adults with developmental disabilities. The program supports people who work in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, hotels, restaurants, retail, supermarkets, maintenance, and manufacturing.

We know the strengths of the people we support and our goal is to find the best match possible between an employer's needs and the employee's skills

On-Going Support

Kennedy-Donovan Center's Transitional Job Supports Program provides training and support to employer and employee as they establish and maintain a strong working relationship.

Employers have direct access to staff. The program provides different levels of supports, often transitioning from a higher level of supports to a less intense level of support and supervision.

What to Expect

  • Our experienced program staff meet personally with company representatives to discuss the specific duties of the position. From there, a personalized training plan is formulated and enacted.
  • The employee is then oriented to his/her new job surroundings at a comfortable pace for both parties, and enjoys personal training through a job coach.
  • The job coach is phased out over time as the employee becomes more comfortable with the job. Eventually he/she will work independently, with periodic visits from program staff to assess performance and assure your satisfaction.
