New Bedford, MA – December 10, 2019 – The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) recently conducted a Program Review of Kennedy-Donovan Center School’s special education facility and programming. DESE granted the school a full approval status, effective through August 31, 2023.
KDC School is a Chapter 766-approved private day school that serves the towns of Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. We provide the highest quality special education services to students ages 3 through 22. Our students have autism, developmental delays, multiple disabilities, neurological disorders, physical disabilities, behavioral challenges, and/or are medically fragile. Certified special education teachers and therapists plan each student’s individual program to match their developing abilities while encouraging each to reach their maximum potential.
DESE’s Program Review included interviews of administrative, instructional and other staff; interviews with parent representatives; review of student records and staff records; surveys of parents of students with disabilities and observation of classrooms and other facilities.
