Community Giving

Community connections are essential to empowering people to realize their full potential. When you organize your own fundraiser for KDC, you give your personal and professional network another way to contribute to our impact for life!

What kind of fundraiser can you coordinate? Consider what might work best for your own networks:

Personal and Family Events
  • Gifts to KDC in lieu of gifts for a birthday, holiday, or celebration
  • Host a house party/giving party to share KDC’s impact on your life with your friends (and our staff can join you to share our work)
  • Bake sales or lemonade stands are great family projects that also spread the word about KDC
  • Donate a percentage of sales from your own business for a day, a week, or throughout
  • Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March
  • Join one of our own events
Community Events
  • Car wash or dog wash
  • Organize a tournament – golf (or mini-golf!), fishing, or your favorite team sport
  • Jeans Day / Casual Day at your workplace
  • Partner with a local restaurant to do a “dining for dollars” special, such as:
    • Percentage of sales for a night or a weekend
    • Special KDC cocktail that contributes $1 per drink
    • Set dollar amount per meal or check
  • Join an existing 5K road race, marathon or cycling event as a charity registrant for KDC
Online-Only Campaigns
  • Remind your friends and family to use AmazonSmile and choose Kennedy-Donovan Center
  • Start a Facebook Fundraiser in honor of a birthday, milestone celebration, or just to honor KDC’s support for your family

Thank you for connecting your own friends, family, and colleagues to our KDC community! We’d love to help you choose and plan your event. Please contact us at development@kdc.org
