Family reunification and preservation

We work closely with each family to determine the level of services that will be provided to prevent family disruption and out-of-home placement for children.

Program Overview

KDC’s Support and Stabilization program is offered as a comprehensive service for families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The program contains a wide variety of services that focuses on family preservation and reunification through strengths-based, individualized services, including parent coaching, visitation support, and emergency assistance.

Our Difference

KDC provides a dedicated on-site family visitation room that can facilitate supervised visits.

Services We Offer

We assist each family in meeting their needs and reaching their goals with flexible, individualized services (e.g. parent coaching, educational support, aftercare). KDC staff help families find natural supports within the community with the goal of keeping the family intact. Services include:

  • Parent mentor services
  • Pediatric visit support
  • Reunification support
  • Behavior management training
  • Dedicated family visitation space
  • Home visits with weekend availability
  • Youth mentor
  • Youth support groups
  • 24-hour emergency assistance

Who We Support

Support and Stabilization is a closed referral program, supporting families referred by the Department of Children and Families. Families may only be accepted through Family Networks.

Staff Excellence

With our range of clinical and community experience, KDC’s expert staff supports families and their children at every stage of their development. The  Support and Stabilization team is trained in areas such as developmental or learning disabilities, positive behavioral management, substance abuse, trauma, and childhood development.
