Kennedy-Donovan Center Announces New Chief Development Officer

Foxboro, MA – January 14, 2019 N. Paul TonThat, Interim President & CEO, announced the appointment of Simon Welsby as the new Chief Development Officer at Kennedy-Donovan Center (KDC). He comes to KDC with nearly twenty-five years of development experience.

Simon has dedicated his career working for nonprofit organizations, with his most recent position being at Emmanuel College, where he was the Vice President of Advancement. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Hull in England. Most recently he spent 15 years in Higher Education fundraising for several leading Colleges including Emmanuel College, Boston College and New England Conservatory. A native of England, he started his career in development for human services organizations in the UK including the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Help the Aged.

“I am delighted and privileged to be joining KDC and to have the opportunity to work with everyone involved to help drive fundraising forward to support the critically important mission of this organization,” said Welsby.

“These are exciting times for KDC, as the organization turns 50 this year and there are new initiatives on the horizon,” said TonThat. “In Simon’s role, he will focus on developing philanthropic support that is evidently important in our mission in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities. We congratulate Simon and look forward to building a bright future with him on board.”
