I have 4 children but my first born were twins, Kaylie and Kyle. They were born in 1997 and were 5 weeks early. They did very well meeting their milestones but Kaylie always presented as hyperflexible… which eventually impacted her ability to walk. She saw a variety of specialists and we eventually ended up at Tufts in Boston. She was diagnosed with an absent nerve disorder (nonspecific origin). Her orthopedic suggested Early Intervention Services and also suggested KDC. The staff at KDC was very informative and worked well with not only Kaylie but included Kyle in the sessions. They attended play group and received in home services until the age of 3.
Once I had all of my children, I decided to go back to school for Occupational Therapist (OTA) I always knew I wanted to work with children and working for KDC was a perfect fit for me! I was very happy with the services they provided to my daughter and the respect they showed my family as a whole unit, while in my home and I knew that was something I wanted to be part of to help more families in need of support.” -Kerri Owen, KDC’s New Bedford Early Intervention Program.
